One of the best, and tastiest festivals will be in downtown Nacogdoches on Saturday, June 9th.

The 23rd Annual Blueberry Festival, presented by Brookshire Brothers and produced by the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce, is a family-fun-filled day that will run from 8am to 4pm. Admission is free, and there will be tons of live entertainment, over 100 vendors, parades, a blueberry picking station, cupcake decorating, blueberry pie eating contest, classic car show, and much, much more!

Festival of Quilts is presented by Nacogdoches Quilters Guild - in conjunction with the Texas Blueberry Festival presented by Brookshire Brothers. June 8 and 9, Friday - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fredonia Hill Baptist Church, 1711 South St. Admission is $5 and good for both days. Blueberry Farm Pick and Peek: Free shuttles to the Blueberry Place every ten minutes from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Get a free ticket to reserve your shuttle time at the tent on Church St. a block north of Main St. $1.50 a pound, pick your own berries fresh from the bush. The ride is free!

CASA Kids Cupcake Contest - NEW!!! - Entry fee is $5. Age categories: 4-6 yrs; 7-9 yrs.; 10-12 yrs. and 13-16yrs. Contestants will present 12 decorated cupcakes - blueberries must be incorporated in either the decoration or recipe. Judges will consider originality, taste and presentation. All contestants will receive a Blueberry Chef's Apron. Winners in each category will receive a Blueberry Chef's Hat and a Blueberry First Place Ribbon. Sponsored by CASA of Deep East Texas.

  • Kids Blueberry Boot Camp - Obstacle Course challenging skills including throwing, balance, speed and agility. Free activity for kids ages 6-12. Entertainment for participants and spectators.

  • Kids Get Wet Water and Bounce Park - Giant inflatables for giggles and spills. Inflatables with water feature! (Individual tickets $2, arm-bands $10). Sponsored by Citizens 1st Bank, Party'N Things, Huntington State Bank, Nacogdoches Safe and Drug Free.
  • Cool Zone - Water misters and cool fans! Sponsored by Nacogdoches Medical Center. Bring your special stuffed animal friends for the Teddy Bear Check Up Station!

Cookin' Up the Blues: Celebrity chefs will cook up some tasty blueberry delights during cooking demonstrations happening in the CBTx lobby. 9 a.m. - guest chef Amy McLeod, Brookshire Brothers; 10:15 a.m. - guest singing chef Season Ammons; and 11:40 a.m. - guest chef SFA’s Dr. Darla O'Dwyer. Sponsors: Texas AgriLife Extension Service and Commercial Bank of Texas.

Cowboy Max: Cowboy Max saves the Blueberry Farm and Sweet Betty Blue from the evil villain in a family-friendly Wild West melodrama in the CBTx lobby. Cheer for the hero, boo the villain and swoon at Sweet Betty Blue (and the air conditioning.) Will Cowboy Max be able to save that blueberry farm? Find out in a show the whole family is sure to love.
