Though 'Flag Day' isn't considered an official federal holiday like Memorial Day or Labor Day, Americans all over the country still celebrate it with great pride.

June 14th is the day we commemorate the adoption of the 'stars and stripes' U.S. flag, which was authorized by Congress in 1777.You can join the festivities tonight starting at 5:30 p.m. in the atrium at the Lufkin City Hall, located at 300 E Shepherd Ave.

All active duty and veterans attending the ceremony will be recognized as we honor our nations flag.

See you there!
