This week - September 23rd through September 29th - is National Dog Week! It's time to celebrate your stupendous German Shepherds, your ravishing Golden Retrievers, your beautiful Beagles, your playful Poodles, your...chuckling...Chihuahuas...? Sorry, I ran out of adjectives, but you get the point.

This is a week to celebrate the four-legged companions in your life. But it's also a time to acknowledge the responsibilities of the owners as well. It's a time to bring attention to the dogs that may not have found their forever home yet (It's a great week to go visit the local shelters such as the Winnie Berry Human Society, Kurth Animal Shelter, or the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter).

Now, for those of you that have given dogs a forever home, we want to hear from you. We want to see pictures of you with your dogs, or just your dogs (videos work, too). Maybe you've got pictures of them playing out in the yard or the local dog park. Maybe you've got pictures of them just enjoying life and snoozing on the couch. Maybe it's just a picture of the dog not doing anything but looking at the camera. Whatever they might be doing - or not doing - we want to see them. This isn't for a contest or anything like that. It's just in honor of National Dog Week. You can post those pics in the comment section below.

Happy #NationalDogWeek East Texas!
