Lufkin Woman Named Houston Texans Cheerleader Finalist
Football season for the Houston Texans may be several months away, but the quest to become one of their cheerleaders has entered into the final stages.
Over a thousand young ladies made their way to the first day of tryouts recently in hopes of being on the 2016 squad. The numbers have now been whittled down to 50+ finalists, and a woman from Lufkin is in that group. Julie Hemphill is a Lufkin High School graduate and a current member of the Texas A&M Dance Team. She is now just one step away from joining this elite group.
This week the finalists will have three days of training camp where they will be judged in a bathing suit round, dancing, as well as other factors. One of those is fan voting. That's where you come in. Voting is now open and continues until Monday, April 25th at 10 a.m. You can vote once per day.
Next week, the final 35 or so will be named to the final squad for 2016-17!!!
Let's help Julie become a Houston Texan's Cheerleader!
