Water slides are a great way to have fun and beat the heat during hot Summer months.  Every year, I make a trek to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels for the tubing and slides.

However, I'm not sure I would take a trip down a water slide at a private residence.  Especially, when that water slide is perched high atop rocky terrain in the Texas Hill Country.

David Salmon of Dallas recently took a major spill from a private water slide when he built up enough momentum to be flung from a hairpin turn.  According to a report, he fell some 10-15 feet onto rocky terrain near Lake Travis.  He suffered numerous lacerations, broken ribs, and a broken arm.  These are certainly serious injuries, but he was still able to post this video onto his Facebook page.
